Information

Varvara is a neat little town situated on the seaside. In the last couple of years, it witnessed a growing rate of construction, yet the village still manages to keep out of big crowds. A dirt path leads to the beach but the place is so beautiful you need to see it to believe it. The size of the sand particles is a bit bigger than in other places, but sand is very clean and the water is crystal blue and always clean. There are numerous rocky bays near the village where people go fishing and diving. Varvara village is tied with a long-dating story that it used to be inhabited by ancient Thracian tribes who often invaded the Greeks who lived in what is now Ahtopol town. Close to the village is the “Iron Tree” that was made for the Bulgarian film “The Big Nighttime Bathing”.
